SPS automotive performance together with CrowdStrike at the 24 Hours of Spa

SPS automotive performance will once again be on the grid at the 77th edition of the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa with a Mercedes-AMG GT3 and a promising driver line-up. In cooperation with CrowdStrike, the team from Obersulm will enter the legendary endurance race under the banner CrowdStrike by SPS and the driver quartet George Kurtz (USA), Ian James (GBR), Colin Braun (USA) and Nick Catsburg (NED).

The CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa from June 26 to 29 is considered the biggest GT3 race in the world. A total of 76 participants have registered for this year's race, who will be competing for victory and championship points on the challenging Spa-Francorchamps circuit, both in the overall classification and in their respective classes. The Mercedes-AMG GT3 #4 from SPS automotive performance will be battling for class victory in the Pro-Am category. The driver quartet, consisting of George Kurtz, Ian James, Colin Braun and Nick Catsburg, were also victorious in the Pro-Am class at the same place last year and are now relying on the expertise of SPS automotive performance to repeat this success.

American George Kurtz has already competed in Spa in the past together with SPS automotive performance and celebrated class victory in the Bronze Cup with the team in 2022. His company CrowdStrike is also the namesake of this traditional endurance classic. Ian James has also competed in many endurance races with the Obersulm-based team since 2023. In the 2025 season, James - who also competes in the FIA WEC - won a class victory at both the Bathurst 12 Hours and the 12H Mugello. Colin Braun is an experienced sports car driver. Together with George Kurtz, he won the Pro-Am championship in the GT World Challenge America in 2023 and is currently racing in the GTP class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Dutchman Nick Catsburg can already look back on countless successes. The two-time winner of the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring and overall winner at Spa in 2015 is also currently behind the wheel in the North American IMSA series and will be a valuable addition to the crew of the #4 Mercedes-AMG GT3, as he was last year.

The CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa will officially open with the free practice session on Thursday, June 26 at 11:20 local time. On Wednesday, fans will have the opportunity to experience the cars and protagonists up close at the traditional parade in the city center of Spa.

Stephan Sohn, team principal at SPS automotive performance: "We are delighted to be competing in this great race again and are very proud that CrowdStrike has trusted us to run this event this year. We have already been very successful on this track, most recently with a class podium in the International GT Open. In 2022, we celebrated a class win and another podium in this legendary race. It will certainly be another tough race, but we are optimistic that we can once again play a major role in the battle for class victory."
