SPS automotive performance chasing points again in the GT World Challenge Europe at the Nürburgring

The GT World Challenge Europe is entering its crucial phase. Next weekend, the penultimate race in the Endurance Cup of the top-class SRO series will start at the legendary Nürburgring. As in all previous Endurance Cup races of the season, SPS automotive performance will again enter the three-hour race with two Mercedes-AMG GT3s.

After the season highlight of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup at Spa-Francorchamps, where the team from Willsbach scored valuable championship points in the Silver Cup as well as in the Pro-Am class, SPS automotive performance will again be aiming for the points at the Nürburgring. As in the second race of the Endurance Cup season at Circuit Paul Ricard, Valentin Pierburg (GER) and Dominik Baumann (AUT) will be supported by Martin Konrad (AUT) in the #20 Mercedes-AMG GT3 again. The driver trio will again race for positions in the Pro-Am class on the legendary Eifel circuit. In the Silver Cup, Yannick Mettler, Miklas Born (both SUI) and Jordan Love (AUS) will share driving duties in the silver-coloured #40 Mercedes-AMG GT3.

Yannick Mettler will also be back on the grid for SPS automotive performance in the Fanatec Esports GT Pro Series. Mettler will once again be piloting the virtual Mercedes-AMG GT3 and is aiming to score points for the GT World Challenge Europe team standings in this one-hour e-sport event.

On Sunday, 5 September at 14:45 CEST, the lights at the Nürburgring will go green for the three-hour GT World Challenge Europe race.

Stephan Sohn, Team Principal SPS automotive performance: “After the Sprint Cup races at Brands Hatch last weekend, the Endurance Cup continues at the Nürburgring. There’s not much time to take a breath. Our goal will be to put both cars in a good position for the final races of the season. We are well prepared and optimistic that we will achieve this target.
