Unlucky race weekend for SPS automotive performance in Spa

At the second event of the International GT Open in Spa-Francorchamps, SPS automotive performance remained without points this time. Reece Barr (IRL) and Mikaeel Pitamber (RSA) in the #20 Mercedes-AMG GT3 fell out of the leading group due to an unforced incident in the early stages. The sister car #54 under the entry CBRX by SPS with Dexter Müller and Yannick Mettler (both SUI) were also unable to join the fight for the points after an early puncture.

Class victory at season opener for SPS automotive performance

SPS automotive performance started successfully into the new season of the International GT Open with a class victory. Dexter Müller and Yannick Mettler (both SUI) triumphed in the #54 Mercedes-AMG GT3 under the entry CBRX by SPS in Saturday’s race in the PROAM class. The young driver duo Reece Barr (IRL) and Mikaeel Pitamber (RSA) also impressed on their first race weekend for the Willsbach-based team with fifth and seventh places in the PRO category.

Overall podium and class win for SPS automotive performance at the 12H Mugello

After a fantastic comeback Ian James (GBR), Gray Newell (USA) and Roman de Angelis (CAN) in the #27 Mercedes-AMG GT3 finished third overall and took class victory in GT3-AM at the 12H Mugello. After dropping back a few laps at the beginning of the race, the team, named Heart of Racing by SPS, fought their way back impressively and triumphed with a clear lead over their competitors in the GT3-AM category.
