Successful first Porsche Sports Cup weekend

The team SPS automotive performance can look back on a positive season opener of the Porsche Sports Cup at the Hockenheimring. The team from Willsbach started with 4 vehicles in different series at Hockenheim.

In qualifying of the Porsche Super Sports Cup in Hockenheim Lance-David Arnold in the Cayman GT4 Sports Club # 157 could secure P1 in the class and therefore an optimal position for the races. The first race on Saturday he won confidently, contributing to an optimal start to the season for the team SPS automoive performance. In the second race on Sunday Lance-David had some bad luck when he was pushed out in the first round in the hairpin after the Parabolica. But with a great driving performance, he fought his way from the last position back into the field and finished in 4th place! It is worth mentioning also that he brought the second best lap time on the track even after being hit on the stern, which certainly had impact on the axis.

Lance-David took the first race at Hockenheim, and in the coming races Jürgen Marschlich (Talheim) will take the vehicle for the rest of the season. The next race for Lance-David Arnold with SPS automotive performance will be the 1,000-kilometer Blancpain Endurance Cup race at Paul Ricard in June.

Also in Porsche Super Sports Cup, but in the class 5e, Nerijus Dagilis in the 911 (991) GT3 Cup # 8 could finish a good P9 in class and overall P18. In the second race he could continue to improve, and finally was ranked 7 in the class! During the race Nerijus drove a constant speed and similar lap times as the leading cars.

Manfred Bay in Porsche 911 (991) GT3 (street version) was also able to achieve a good result in the PZ Trophy. Of the 36 cars he ended the first run on P 6 and the second on position 7.

Thus the race weekend for the team SPS automotive performance was all in all a nice start in the Porsche Sports Cup season 2016!
