SPS automotive performance in action at the 12H Mugello

Next event for SPS automotive performance. At the 12H Mugello, the Willsbach-based team will enter the #27 Mercedes-AMG GT3 with drivers Ian James (GBR), Roman de Angelis (CAN) and Gray Newell (USA) under the name Heart of Racing by SPS.

After the successful start into the season in Dubai in January, the cooperation between the US-American team The Heart of Racing and SPS automotive performance continues.
At the 12H Mugello from 24-26 March, SPS automotive performance and The Heart of Racing will race the #27 Mercedes-AMG GT3 at the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello. The event in Tuscany marks the opening round of the European 24H Series championship. The Heart of Racing team, which supports paediatric projects through its motorsport entries, will field Ian James, Roman de Angelis and Gray Newell as drivers, who will share the wheel of the #27 car. The trio already campaigned together in the opening round of the 24H Series in Dubai and took third place in the GT3 ProAm class in their first outing on this car. In the second appearance of this joint venture, the team and drivers are also aiming for a good result in the twelve-hour race, which will be held on Saturday and Sunday in two sections, each lasting six hours.

On 25 March at 11:15 a.m. local time, the start signal will be given for the first race section of the 12H Mugello. The second part of the race will be released on Sunday, 26 March at 09:00.

Stephan Sohn, team principal SPS automotive performance: “After the good start of our cooperation with The Heart of Racing, we are looking forward to going out on the track together again at the 12H Mugello. We’ll be tweaking a few little things and hope to be able to achieve a good result again at this race.”
