SPS automotive performance guests at the 12H Spa-Francorchamps

This coming weekend, SPS automotive performance will be a guest at the famous Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps for the first time this year. The team from Willsbach-Obersulm will line up with the Mercedes-AMG GT3 #27 under the name Heart of Racing by SPS at the 12H Spa-Francorchamps.

For the second round of the European 24H Series championship, SPS automotive performance will again be represented with the #27 Mercedes-AMG GT3 on the Belgian Grand Prix circuit. The cooperation between the US team The Heart of Racing and SPS automotive performance thus enters its third round after the 24H Dubai and the 12H Mugello. After the class victory and third place overall at the European season opener in Mugello, the team will again face the competition on the Ardennes roller coaster – as the Spa-Francorchamps circuit is also called. Under the name Heart of Racing by SPS, Ian James (GBR), Gray Newell (USA) and Roman de Angelis (CAN) will share the wheel of the number 27 car. The trio already clinched class victory at the last event on the Mugello Circuit after a furious catch-up chase. At this twelve-hour event, which is divided into two race sections of six hours each, the team is again aiming for a good result. This race is sure to be one of the highlights of the European 24H Series championship. More than 50 cars, including 16 GT3 cars, will accept the challenge on this traditional circuit.

The 12H Spa-Francorchamps will start on Saturday, 6 May at 11:15 CEST. The start of the second part of the race will be on Sunday, 7 May at 10:30 CEST.

Stephan Sohn, team principal SPS automotive performance: “We are very much looking forward to Spa-Francorchamps. We have already had very good experiences here as a team. Nevertheless, every race is a new challenge. Our drivers competing here at this event don’t have that much experience on this challenging track and the competition is very strong. But I am sure that we can also master this task successfully and achieve a good result.”
