At the 12H Spa-Francorchamps, SPS automotive performance clinched class victory in the GT3-AM and a strong third place overall under the Heart of Racing by SPS entry. Ian James (GBR), Gray Newell (USA) and Roman de Angelis (CAN) drove the Mercedes-AMG GT3 #27 to another win in their category after their success at Mugello in sometimes difficult conditions.

This coming weekend, SPS automotive performance will be a guest at the famous Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps for the first time this year. The team from Willsbach-Obersulm will line up with the Mercedes-AMG GT3 #27 under the name Heart of Racing by SPS at the 12H Spa-Francorchamps.

SPS automotive performance started successfully into the new season of the International GT Open with a class victory. Dexter Müller and Yannick Mettler (both SUI) triumphed in the #54 Mercedes-AMG GT3 under the entry CBRX by SPS in Saturday’s race in the PROAM class. The young driver duo Reece Barr (IRL) and Mikaeel Pitamber (RSA) also impressed on their first race weekend for the Willsbach-based team with fifth and seventh places in the PRO category.

In the 2023 season, SPS automotive performance will enter the International GT Open once again. In addition to the well-known driver pairing of Dexter Müller and Yannick Mettler (both SUI) in the #54 Mercedes-AMG GT3, Reece Barr (IRL) as well as Mikaeel Pitamber (RSA) will contest a full season for the first time in the #20 sister car.

After a fantastic comeback Ian James (GBR), Gray Newell (USA) and Roman de Angelis (CAN) in the #27 Mercedes-AMG GT3 finished third overall and took class victory in GT3-AM at the 12H Mugello. After dropping back a few laps at the beginning of the race, the team, named Heart of Racing by SPS, fought their way back impressively and triumphed with a clear lead over their competitors in the GT3-AM category.

SPS automotive performance celebrated class victory in the Pro-Am class at the Kyalami 9 Hour. Kenny Habul (AUS), Yannick Mettler (SUI) and Jules Gounon (AND) triumphed in the #75 Mercedes-AMG GT3 at the second event of the Intercontinental GT Challenge season in South Africa.

After the successful start to the year in Dubai, the next task lies ahead for SPS automotive performance. From 23 to 25 February, the team around Stephan Sohn will field two Mercedes-AMG GT3s in the second race of the Intercontinental GT Challenge season – the Kyalami 9 Hour.
