Dress rehearsal for SPS automotive performance ahead of 24h of Spa

SPS automotive performance is preparing for the TOTAL 24 Hours of Spa with a guest appearance in the International GT Open at Spa-Francorchamps.
Willsbach – One week ahead of the TOTAL 24 Hours of Spa, SPS automotive performance is seizing the opportunity to prepare for the endurance classic with a guest start in the International GT Open, which also takes place at Spa-Francorchamps this weekend.
The #20 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of the team from Willsbach will be driven by Valentin Pierburg (GER) and Nick Foster (AUS) in both races. This same duo lined up together in the GT World Challenge Europe in Zandvoort, Netherlands, where Foster stood in for Dominik Baumann (AUT), who was in action at the Nürburgring 24 Hours on that weekend. Pierburg, who will share the cockpit with Baumann and the two Americans Colin Braun and George Kurtz at the 24h of Spa, secured third place in the Drivers’ Championship in the PRO-AM class of the Sprint Cup within the GT World Challenge Europe last weekend.
The two International GT Open races at Spa-Francorchamps offer the team a welcome opportunity to gain valuable data and adapt to the conditions they will face in Belgium, after the 24-hour race in Spa was postponed from July to the end of October.
Stephan Sohn, team principal SPS automotive performance: “After last month’s tests, we are seizing this opportunity, shortly before the 24-hour race, to get out on the track in real conditions and ensure we are as well prepared as possible. However, we obviously also have our sights set on a good result this weekend.”
