The Qualifying of the 1.000km race in Palanga became a thrilling issue. Lap by lap the top positions changed. First it was a fight of three cars: The SPS/Oktanas Porsche, the Polish Ferrari 430GT3 and the BMW M3 Silhoutte of the Belgium Team KS Motorsport. In the last 15 minutes of the Qualifying the Ferrai was not able to follow the speed of the Porsche and the BMW. In the end the BMW managed to reach the pole postion, with a little luck as the SPS/Oktanas Porsche had some traffic and lost some time in the last lap. Compared to last years' practices the lap times have been about 1.5 seconds faster.
However as this race is going over a very long distance of 1.,000km the starting position is not that important - also there is an advantage on the side of the SPS/Oktanas drivers Nerijus Dagilis, Nemunas Dagilis and Robertas Kupcikas. All three are nearly doing the same speed and laptimes. so it can be expected that the Porsche will be constantly fast.
The race will start tomorrow, Saturday, at 12h noon.....
