Podium for SPS automotive performance in Hankook 24h Paul Ricard!

The race weekend at Le Castellet was a real thriller! After an excellent 2nd place in qualifying team SPS automotive performance with the newly built Mercedes AMG GT3 was in the front row for the 24-hour race! The start and the first rounds were driven by Lance-David Arnold who handed over after 2 hours to Valentin Pierburg. After about 6 hours Stéphane Kox took over the car on fifth position. The SPS automotive performance racing car with number 27 running many rounds perfectly on the French circuit and could keep a top 10 position in the large part of the race. The 2nd place in the overall standings was within reach, but was prevented by necessary pit stops due to a broken front bumper / splitter and a defective rear axle wishbone. The team took these challenges perfectly and performed the repairs asap: To replace the front bumper and -splitter Team SPS only needed a 17 minutes and also the wishbone rear left was replaced in 12 minutes. The great performance of the SPS pit crew was shown also as they carried out the fastest regular pit stop throughout the race!
Alex Müller and Valentin Pierburg could then place the vehicle back to P8 as as there were still 6 hours to go. Tom Onslow-Cole took over the vehicle to drive the final laps in this tough endurance race and bring the vehicle to the finish. On Sunday at 14:30 after 24 hours finally the checkered flag was waved and the team SPS automotive performance gained at the end an excellent 3rd place in class A6-Pro and a 4th place overall!

Team manager Stephan Sohn:
“Third place in class A6-Pro and the 4th place in the overall standings are of course a very positive result for us! Meanwhile even the second place overall for our team would have been possible, but unfortunately some necessary pit stops prevented a better result. But considering the enormous challenges in this long distance race for men and materials, our whole team and all the drivers did a perfect job! For this I thank all team members for their perfect performance! Definitely a very nice and successful weekend for the team SPS automotive performance.”
